Dave Bennett’s Tribute to Benny Goodman

Dave Bennett is a true clarinet phenomenon. At age 12, he was invited to the bandstand of the famous Sweet Basil jazz club in New York to sit in with trumpet great Doc Cheatham. At age 14, he traveled around America as a member of the New Reformation Dixieland Band. At age 17, Dave was selected to perform as a special guest soloist with the Count Basie Orchestra.

Now at age 20, the Dave Bennett Septet tours the U.S. and Canada with his “Tribute to Benny Goodman.” Many say he is now as good as Goodman; some say he is better. Dave Bennett’s is a name which will be with us forever.

PBS Star Frank Ferrante An Evening with Groucho

The wit and songs of the great Groucho Marx.

Frank Ferrante has played Groucho more than 2,000 times — in New York, London and on PBS. His portrayals brought him the New York Theatre World Award, the Connecticut Critics Circle Award and nominations for the Laurence Olivier and Helen Hayes Awards.

Mr. Ferrante enters the stage as himself and becomes Groucho before our eyes. He involves the audience in his performance, as did Groucho on numerous occasions. He showcases two acts of the best of Groucho and reaquaints us with legends of the era, including Charlie Chaplin, W.C. Fields and Greta Garbo.

A performance not to be missed!!
