Banu Gibson and the New Orleans Hot Jazz present their holiday show:   “Zat You, Santa Claus?”

Banu has performed throughout Europe, Asia and Australia, as well as the United States. She was the only guest artist at the Boston Pops’ millennium concert. She has appeared with many great symphony orchestras.

Banu earned an Emmy for her PBS jazz special and has appeared with Garrison Keillor on his “A Prairie Home Companion” radio show. She is also highlighted in the first chapter of his book, “Charles Kuralt’s America.”

In the fields of jazz and blues, no one compares with the great Banu.

In her earlier Charleston appearances on our stage, she “brought down the house!”

Five By Design presents “Stay Tuned”

In their visit to Charleston several years ago, Five By Design presented “Radio Days” – a show about the early days of radio in America. Our audience loved them.

Their new show, “Stay Tuned,” takes us back to the early days of television. Accompanied by their own orchestra, they highlight the early TV shows, the sketches, the commercials and the songs of that era.

Relive the ‘50s and ‘60s on TV; and, whatever you do, never put a Chiquita Banana in the refrigerator!

River City Brass Band

One of Charleston’s favorites, the 27-piece River City Brass Band has been with us many times. The band’s great talent and its penchant for humor have delighted our audience at each concert.

RCBB performs a powerful repertoire from light classics to pops, from jazz to marches. The band performs over 100 concerts each year throughout the United States.

The River City Brass Band was selected by the U.S. Department of State to demonstrate American Music at the World’s Fair in Sydney, Australia.

A smashing finale to Community Music’s 75th Anniversary Season!

“It’s not a reach to say that this may be the most fun with music you’re going to have all year.”
